After two machete-wielding attackers allegedly tracked him down in Melbourne’s west, a teenage lad escaped unharmed.
Caroline Chisholm Christian College students were forced to flee as afternoon school pick-up turned violent on Friday.
Students were forced back into the classroom, with some claiming the incident was in reprisal for the death of Pasawm Lyhym, 16, in May.

machete-wielding

According to police, two individuals approached a student from Braybrook College about 3.30pm on Friday before threatening him with two huge knives.
The victim outran the pair, one of whom dropped his firearm in a Ravenhall Street front garden.

On Saturday morning, a homeowner noticed the 40-centimetre blade and cops apprehended it.
The school’s principal confirmed the event in an email to parents, assuring them that “the safety and well-being of every student is our highest priority.”

“It’s these gangs that are coming around and picking on innocent kids,” Corrinna Cassar, a local resident, told 9News.
“It’s not just Chisholm, it’s everywhere.”
The college has a history of violence.
When Pasawm Lyhym, 16, was killed at a Sunshine bus stop in May, police kept a presence at the school, which the alleged culprits attended.
According to witnesses, the latest attack may have been motivated by Pasawm’s death.

Residents claim that the college has been placed on lockdown at least three times since May due to growing violence.
Locals want police in the region to do more to tackle the high level of youth crime.
“They’re charged, then they’re caught again, and then they’re on bail… there should be harsher punishment,” Cassar added.
There have been no arrests.
