According to local reports, Supermodel Gigi Hadid was arrested on July 10 in the Cayman Islands with cannabis and paraphernalia.
A variety of reports, Hadid travelled by private plane to the Cayman Islands, a British offshore territory in the Caribbean popular with the wealthy due to its unusually liberal tax regulations. Their luggage was examined at the airport, and “ganja and utensils used for the consumption of ganja” were discovered, according to Cayman Marl Road. The two were detained and transported to the Prisoner Detention Centre before being freed on bail. They pled guilty to the allegations two days later in court and were fined $1,000, “with no conviction recorded,” according to the site.
According to Hadid’s agent, the marijuana was obtained with a medical licence in New York, and medical marijuana is legal in the Cayman Islands. Her record is still clean, and she had a good time on the island the remainder of the time.
