The DMK alliance’s Founder President, Kamal Haasan, is expected to fight the Coimbatore Lok Sabha constituency in the forthcoming 2024 general elections.
According to a top leader of the MNM party, they intend to develop their electoral manifesto based on feedback from grassroots constituents.
Kamal Haasan, the Tamil Superstar and founder president of MNM, is expected to run for the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat in the 2024 general election.
According to MNM sources, the DMK is interested in awarding the Coimbatore seat to Kamal Haasan because he fared exceptionally well in the 2021 Assembly elections, losing to BJP’s Vanathi Sreenivasan by a slim margin of 1,728 votes.
Kamal Haasan launched the MNM’s ‘Makkalodu Maiam’ state-level outreach campaign in the Coimbatore South Assembly constituency on Sunday.
The MNM intends to meet people in all 234 Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu, with party leaders and cadres meeting people at the ward and panchayat level to discuss the challenges they are facing. This comprises topics that people’s representatives in their particular constituencies neglect.
According to a top MNM leader, the party’s electoral manifesto would be developed based on feedback from grassroots constituents.
According to the party’s leadership, each ward secretary is given a list of 25 binary questions about basic services in their region through a Google Form, and the feedback will be used to gain a better understanding of each district.
According to MNM sources, the party’s Coimbatore district functionaries have already requested that the Tamil superstar run for the Coimbatore seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
It should be mentioned that Kamal Haasan recently gave a car to Sharmila, a Tamil Nadu bus driver who was fired after an incident involving DMK politician Kanimozhi boarding the bus she was driving. Sharmila engaged in a verbal brawl with the bus conductor, who demanded Kanimozhi’s ticket fee. As a result, Sharmila was fired by the bus owner. Kamal Haasan invited her to his Chennai home and gave her a new automobile to drive for a living.
This act by Kamal, who is located in Coimbatore, is also considered as a ploy by the Tamil celebrity to gain popularity in the area.
