A tornado-producing storm has been identified.
The National Weather Service issued the warning for northern Lapeer County at 2:51 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11. It was set to expire at 3:30 p.m.
This was a radar-based alert. At 2:51 p.m., a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was detected near Millington. It was travelling east at 25 miles per hour.
The storm was anticipated to pass over Mayville at 3:05 p.m., Clifford at 3:25 p.m., and North Branch at 3:30 p.m.
East Dayton, Silverwood, and Fostoria were among possible affected regions.
During a tornado warning, inhabitants should avoid windows and seek shelter in a basement or an inner room on the building’s lowest floor.
